Gideon Brefo

Gideon Brefo is the co-founder of Hapaweb Solutions and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of hapaSpace Innovation Hub, a vibrant co-working and innovation space based in Accra, Ghana. With over 15 years of entrepreneurship and technology experience, he has guided Hapaweb and hapaSpace to support hundreds of startups annually, while expanding their influence across Africa. As the second Chairperson of the Ghana Hubs Network, Gideon spearheaded initiatives like the “25 Days of WOW” policy hackathons, which contributed to shaping Ghana’s proposed startup bill. Internationally, he organised the German African Entrepreneurship Summit, drawing over 170 hubs and startups to Accra.
In addition to his entrepreneurial leadership, Gideon is deeply committed to education and mentorship. He is a certified British Council trainer who has empowered over 1,000 teachers and led digital-skilling initiatives such as Code4Girls for senior high school students. His research collaborations with organisations like GIZ and KAS have helped map and evolve Ghana’s digital and hub ecosystem. Known for his “get-it-done” attitude, Gideon energises youth through practical coaching and has become a respected speaker on tech and innovation—with recent highlights including a keynote at the 15th Tech in Ghana conference in London. His multifaceted impact in entrepreneurship, policy, education and mentorship continues to uplift Ghana’s startup landscape.
